New Generation Maruti Suzuki Swift and Swift Sport Images Leaked

The Maruti Suzuki Swift has been one of the most popular cars sold by the Indo-Japanese carmaker. It has been nearly 12 year since the car was first launched in India but the Swift is still a best seller in the market. Currently the company is working on the new generation Swift, which is likely to reach the Indian market later in 2017. Recently some design images of the next-gen Swift hatchback and Swift Sport have surfaced the internet, giving us a glimpse of what to expect from the 2017 models. The new generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is likely to make its public appearance at this year's 2016 Paris Motor Show. What's interesting is the fact that the first generation Swift hatchback that was launched in 2004 also broke cover at the Paris Motor Show.

Judging from the leaked images one can't deny that fact that the new generation Swift is likely to pick some styling cues from the Baleno. The car looks sleeker and much more stylish compared to the outgoing model that is sold across various markets including India. Among the new additions you'll find that the new-gen Suzuki Swift will come with an all-new front fascia with a large hexagonal grille, large air intakes, new stylish sweptback headlamps, and sculpted bonnet. The side profile on the other hand features a new sporty set of rims, flare wheel arches and a slopping roofline that not only gives it a coupe like effect but with floating-roof that car will allow Maruti to offer customization options like in the Brezza.

The rear profile more or else remains the same but now it looks way sharper with the redesigned tail lamps, muscular bumper and twin chrome-tipped tail pipes. The basic design of the cabin remains unchanged but the dashboard receives some new style additions that give it premium look. The car will come with a new flat-bottom steering, piano black finish centre console, new dials and some tweaked features. The Swift Sport comes with the same style cues only with some better looking alloys and a bigger spoiler as well.

Coming to the engine department the new Swift hatchback is likely to be powered by a new 1.0-litre petrol engine in the global markets, while the Swift Sport is expected to be paired to a 1.4-litre petrol engine. Transmission duties will be take care of by a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the India-bound model will likely get a 5-speed manual and possibly the company's AGS as well.
