New Generation Volkswagen Passat Sketches Revealed

To be unveiled later this year, the sketch images of the new-generation Volkswagen Passat has surfaced on web. The same model will also make its way to India. The sketch images suggest the Passat to have received a much sportier and coupe like stance.
The car receives a new front fascia which looks to have taken inspiration from Volkswagen's CrossBlue Coupe and T-Roc SUV concepts, with grille and headlights merged into a prominent V-shaped wing. The grille slats reaching out to headlights, and a single chrome slat horizontally laying above the fog lights, give it a unique character.

From sides, the new-gen Passat with prominent wheel arches, lesser glass area, low-slung and aerodynamic shape resemble to a four-door coupe. The rear of the car features dual exhaust system and sleek tail-lamps.

Under the hood, the new Passat is likely to get a new twin-turbo 2.0-litre, four-cylinder TDI engine, capable of churning out 237bhp and 500Nm of torque, coupled to a seven-speed DSG transmission with an all-wheel drive system. Later on, the company might launch a plug-in hybrid variant as well, featuring 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine and a 100bhp electric motor. However, in India, the company might not bring both the aforementioned engines, and continue with its existing engine options.
