Next-Gen Mercedes-Benz GLC Debut On June 1, 2022

- Mercedes confirms new GLC to get 100 per cent electrified
- Will pack in latest tech including MBUX
- Expected to grow in size over its predecessor
Mercedes-Benz will reveal the new GLC on June 1, 2022. Based on the same platform as the new C-Class, the new GLC is expected to also grow in size over the outgoing model with the teaser shared revealing some of the design changes to the new-gen model. The teaser reveals a section of the SUV's rear styling showing off the almost C-class like tail-lamps with LED elements, prominent haunches and a portion of the window line. Going by previous images of test mules, the new GLC gets a more upright nose with sleeker headlamps with LED DRLs in the familiar eyebrow like design. The sides feature prominent creases on the front and rear fenders. On the whole the GLC's design comes across as an evolution of that of the current model with elements borrowed from the new C-Class.

Mercedes has said that the new GLC will be loaded with tech including a “fully-digitised cockpit” and “extensive standard equipment”. Going by previous spy shots expect the cabin to share a lot with the new C-class including a familiar S-class inspired dashboard with a large central touchscreen loaded with MBUX, connected car tech and Mercedes' voice assistant and digital dials.

In India, the GLC is currently Mercedes' best selling SUV.
“The new GLC combines an expressive, sporty design with a luxurious interior. In addition to a variable space and the versatile MBUX infotainment system, it is characterised by excellent off-road properties thanks to the standard-fit 4MATIC all-wheel drive and special driving programmes,” Mercedes said in its press release.
