Planning To Buy A Used MG Hector? Take A Look At These Pros And Cons

The MG Hector went on sale in India back in June 2019. It was the first product to be launched by Morris Garages India, and currently, the Hector is the company's best-selling model in the country. Right now, the Hector is one of the more popular choices in the Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh segment. However, if you are planning to buy the MG Hector from the used car market, here are some pros and cons you should know about.
Pros
1. MG Motor India offers the SUV in both two-row (5-seater) and three-row (6- and 7-seater) body styles, as Hector and Hector Plus, respectively. So, you have multiple options to choose from.

2. The MG Hector has that conventional big SUV stance, accentuated by the large chrome grille, LED headlamps, LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED taillamps and dual-tone colour option.
3. MG Motor India offers a range of features like - panoramic sunroof, rear AC vents, wireless charger and front ventilated seats, and the i-Smart system with a host of connected car features.

4. The MG Hector also comes with an array of drivetrain choices. The petrol option includes a 1.5-litre engine that gets the option for a 6-speed manual, 7-speed DCT and a CVT automatic. The 2.0-litre diesel engine comes with a 6-speed manual as standard.

Cons
1. The MG Hector is just a couple of years old in the market, so the options you'll get in the used car space will be quite limited, and not exactly cheap. In fact, we don't expect anything below Rs. 15 lakh.

2. If you are planning to get the 6- or 7-seater, we must tell you, the third row in the Hector Plus doesn't offer enough space and is only suitable for children and not adults.
3. The Hector does not come with a diesel automatic combination. Even the Tata Harrier gets one and it's powered by the same Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre oil burner.
4. Features like LED headlamps, i-Smart connected car tech, ventilated seats and wireless charger are exclusive to the higher-spec variants, so if they are your priority, then you'll have fewer choices in the used car segment.
