Planning To Buy The Yamaha RayZR 125 FI Hybrid? Here Are The Pros And Cons

- The Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi gets a 125 cc engine with mild-hybrid tech
- The Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid also gets Bluetooth connectivity
- The Yamaha RayZR 125 FI Hybrid is priced from Rs. 76,830 (ex-showroom)
The Yamaha RayZR 125 FI Hybrid was launched earlier this year and the latest upgrade saw the two-wheeler giant bring mild-hybrid technology to the scooter. For those looking for a sporty scooter with a balance of ride-ability and efficiency, the RayZR 125 FI Hybrid arrives as an interesting choice, while there's also the more rugged Street Rally 125 on sale as well with the same hardware. For those looking at a light scooter that's easy to ride, the RayZR 125 FI Hybrid is a great option. Make sure to check out these pros and cons before you actually buy one.

The new mild-hybrid tech does not have an effect on the weight and the RayZR 125 FI Hybrid remains light at just 99 kg
Pros
- The Yamaha RayZR 125 FI Hybrid is one of the lightest offerings in its class with a kerb weight of just 99 kg. This makes it peppy on the road and quite fuel-efficient too.
- Couple that with the updated mild-hybrid engine and you get a more responsive scooter than before. The 125 cc single-cylinder engine gets paired with a Smart Motor Generator (SMG) that irons out any torque lag and offers smoother power delivery with a better torque spread. This helps climbing gradients and overtakes are easier than before.
- The SMG unit has also helped derive more juice from the motor with torque going up by 0.6 Nm at 10.3 Nm available at 5000 rpm, while power stays the same 8 bhp available at 6500 rpm.
- The RayZR 125 FI Hybrid also comes with three new colour options including Racing Blue and Yellow Cocktail, as well as the fantastic MotoGP edition. The LED headlamp on the top variant is a nice addition.
- The RayZR 125 FI Hybrid gets a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster that works with the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X app. This brings a host of features like locate my vehicle, answer back, riding history, parking record, and more.

The Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid does miss out on a few comfort features like the external fuel filler lid or boot light
Cons
- The Yamaha RayZR 125 FI isn't the most innovative when it comes to features. It does not get an external fuel filler or boot light. Even the USB charging feature is offered as an option.
- The scooter also misses out on a parking brake that's nearly a segment standard in today's times.
- Prices for the Yamaha RayZR 125 FI Hybrid start at a slight premium from Rs. 76,830 (ex-showroom Delhi) onwards, which makes it more expensive than several offerings in the segment.
