Royal Enfield Posts 18 Per Cent Growth In October 2017; Exports Double

Eicher Motors owned Royal Enfield reported a growth of 18 per cent in sales in October 2017. The company's overall sales for the previous month stood at 69,492 units, as opposed to 65,492 units sold during the same period last year. The bike maker reported domestic sales of 68,014 units, a growth of 17 per cent over 58,379 units sold on October 2016. Meanwhile, exports doubled in October this year with Royal Enfield shipping 1478 units, as against 748 units during the same period last year. A growth of 98 per cent.
Royal Enfield reported sales of 65,209 units of its motorcycles of up to 350 cc, whereas sales of its higher capacity bikes stood at 4283 units, a year-on-year growth of nine per cent.
Royal Enfield recently commenced delivieries of the Royal Enfield Himalayan in its new BS4 avatar. The company also launched the Classic 350 and 500 Dark editions in black and gunmetal grey shades. The bike maker also announced its foray in the Vietnam market in October this year.
With respect to year-to-date sales, Royal Enfield has registered a total of 4,56,355 units between April and October, recording a growth of 22 per cent, as against 3,73,551 units sold during the same period in 2016. Exports stood at 10,037 units during the same period, registering a growth of 25 per cent over 8022 units sold between April and October 2016.
