Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X, 500X Brochure Leaked

- Both bikes get cosmetic updates
- The bikes carry the same specifications as before
- Expect the prices to be at a slight premium than the regular Thunderbirds
Royal Enfield is all set to launch the Thunderbird 350X and the Thunderbird 500X in India tomorrow. But the details of the motorcycles have already been leaked ahead of the official launch. In fact, the motorcycles have already been spotted testing in India a couple of months ago and now Royal Enfield is finally ready to launch the bikes. Targeted at the younger generation, the Thunderbird X motorcycles get a host of styling updates. For starters, the bikes get new 9-spoke alloy wheels, blacked out headlamp housing, shorter handlebars and a new seat, which is a single unit instead of the earlier split seat unit. Additionally, the exhaust, the forks up front and the shock absorbers at the rear are also done in matte black. The bikes continue to get an LED DRL on the headlamp and an LED tail lamp. The Thunderbird 350X and the 500X will be offered in funky colours, which are Getaway Orange, Roving Red, Whimsical White and Drifter Blue.

The leaked product brochure confirms a few details as we had already reported in our earlier story. The Thunderbird 350X and the Thunderbird 500X will be using the same engines and gearboxes as before. The 350X will have the 346 cc single-cylinder motor that makes 19.8 bhp and 28 Nm of peak torque while the 500X will get the 499 cc single-cylinder engine that makes 27.2 bhp and 41.3 Nm of peak torque. Both engines will be paired to the existing 5-speed gearboxes. The 500X will also be getting tubeless tyres, which is a first from Royal Enfield.
We do not expect the Thunderbird 350X and the Thunderbird 500X to be equipped with ABS (anti-lock brakes). Expect the company to keep the prices of the Thunderbird X models to be at a slight premium. Currently, the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 is priced at Rs. 1.48 lakh and the Thunderbird 500 is priced at Rs. 1.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
