Highlights

The Legend is back and after a long wait the Octi fans can rejoice. Skoda today launched the all-new Octavia.  The launch right before the festive season tells you how important this product is for Skoda India. The company has priced the Octavia at Rs 13.95 for the 1.4 petrol Active, and the top-of-the-line 2.0 TDI Elegance at Rs 19.45 lakh.

Skoda will offer the Octavia in three trims - Active, Ambition and Elegance. The 1.8 TSI will only be available in the Elegance trim. While the 2.0 TDI (in either manual or automatic) will be available in the one step lower, Ambition. Finally, the base Active trim can only be had on the 1.4 TSI and the 2.0 TDI manual.

Skoda will mate the 1.8 TSI with a seven-speed automatic transmission while the 2.0-litre diesel will be available with the option of both a manual and a six-speed automatic transmission.

Standard features on the Octavia include 16-inch alloy wheels, powered mirror adjustment, power windows, ABS, dual front airbags, traction control, driver's seat height adjust, steering adjust, remote locking and rear air-con vents and many more. Skoda will of course be discontinuing the Laura sedan now that the Octavia is here.
