Suzuki GSX-R250 Could Be Unveiled At EICMA Or INTERMOT Shows This Year

- The GSX-R250 was leaked in patent images from Australia earlier this year
- The GSX-R250 is likely to use a 250cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder motor
- Details on the quarter-litre offering will be available by next month
Speaking about the 250cc bike, Suzuki Australia's Marketing Manager, Lewis Croft said, "At this stage official communication will be announced in October. Suzuki Motor Corporation will be unveiling a number of new models at Intermot and EICMA. We are aware of this motorcycle and are currently studying its feasibility in the Australian market."

Suzuki GSX-R250 Patent
The news emerges as promising for Suzuki fans globally as the bike is expected to be sold in several markets including India. The Indian launch however, still remains a speculation. Australia could be one of the first markets to get the motorcycle, especially since patent images of the bike were leaked from the country earlier this year. The bike is also important as it will help fill a major void in the Japanese bikemaker's stable.
Expected to be badged as the 'Gixxer 250' or 'GSX-R250', the quarter-litre bike is likely to draw power from a twin-cylinder engine (single-cylinder is also a possibility), and will take on the Kawasaki Ninja 250R (Ninja 300 in India), Yamaha YZF-R25 (YZF-R3 in India) as well as the Honda CBR250RR.
The INTERMOT motorcycle is scheduled to commence on October 5 for the public and will be home to several new two wheelers, while EICMA that is scheduled to commence on November 10 will see some much awaited bikes and concepts finally coming to life. More details on the Gixxer 250 are expected next month.
