Engine & Output
The engine is based on the Suzuki Gixxer 250 series, with the 249 cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled single overhead cam (SOHC), four-valve engine, making 26 bhp at 9,300 rpm and 22.2 Nm of peak torque at 7,300 rpm. According to Suzuki, the 250 cc adventure sports tourer has adapted analytic technology from MotoGP that was used to develop the valves, shim type roller rocker arms retainers, and pistons to reduce weight. The V-Strom SX's engine has a piston which contributes to increased output and better fuel efficiency, and the engine can handle a wide variety of situations, from riding in town to high-speed cruising. Sensors provide data to the electronic fuel injection system to monitor and deliver the ideal amount of fuel to match riding conditions.

The Suzuki V-Strom SX has a kerb weight of 167 kg, and gets a 19-inch front wheel, with ground clearance of 205 mm, which should help it sail over broken roads and mild off-road trails.
Suspension & Cycle Parts
Compared to the Gixxer 250, the V-Strom SX has more ground clearance of 205 mm and has a kerb weight of 167 kg. Fuel tank capacity remains the same at 12 litres. The Suzuki V-Strom SX employs a 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel combination, but suspension travel isn't increased to offer full-blown off-road credentials. In any case, Suzuki Motorcycle India has billed it as a crossover, which should help the V-Strom SX take on mild off-road duties, and comfortable long-distance touring capability.

The Suzuki V-Strom SX is priced at Rs. 2.11 lakh (Ex-showroom) and will primarily take on the KTM 250 Adventure and the Benelli TRK 251. Price-wise though, it competes with a range of other offerings, including the Royal Enfield Himalayan, and even the Honda CB200X.
Price & Rivals
The Suzuki V-Strom SX is priced at Rs. 2.11 lakh (Ex-showroom) and has the KTM 250 Adventure and Benelli TRK 251 as its main rivals. But considering its price tag and capability, it will also go up against the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan, Yezdi Adventure, Hero XPulse 200 4 Valve, and even the Honda CB200X. Where the V-Strom SX scores is in its styling and the smooth powerplant taken from the Gixxer 250 family.
