These 7-Seater SUVs Are Available In The Used Car Market Under Rs. 10 Lakh

- The trend to own a SUV with 7-seats is quickly catching up.
- At present, there are a number of offerings from various carmakers.
- The used car market offers plethora of options for buyers.
The trend to own an SUV with 7-seats or with a three-row configuration is quickly catching up, not just with the carmakers but also with the buyers. Not that 7-seater SUVs weren't around before. However, the renewed interest in this segment has increased exponentially over the past few months, and with it, the number of offerings in the market, as we have more than a dozen of these available in the Indian market currently. But, if you are in the market for a new 7-seater SUV, then the price bracket to own one is slightly overpriced, and the choice of your variant could put a dent in your pocket. To offset this, the used car market offers a plethora of options for buyers, with choices for variants, that are well within your budget. So, we list out a few of these 7-Seater SUVs that you can buy in the used car space for under Rs. 10 lakh.
Mahindra TUV300
Mahindra last updated the Mahindra TUV300 in 2019, before it went under the knife to return as the Mahindra Bolero Neo in 2020. In its heyday, the Mahindra TUV300 clocked sales of almost 1,300 units every month and was even among the top sellers in the company's line-up. It came with several unique attributes that made it a strong value proposition, but the most important, we feel, is its ability to seat 7 persons in its subcompact proportions.

It was the largest in terms of height and width in the segment despite its sub-4 metre length. If you are in the market looking for one, then we prefer the top-spec T10 Plus variant, which retailed at Rs. 10.55 lakh before it was withdrawn from the market.

Mahindra Scorpio
The Mahindra Scorpio is readying a generation change, but the older iteration still commands a huge demand in the used car space. The engine line-up remained unchanged from earlier, so it is powered by the same 2.2-litre mHawk that powered the flagship Scorpio. The variant that we are recommending comes with the optional on-the-fly 4X4 system.

This powertrain is a good workhorse, with plenty of grunts and go as the peak torque of 280Nm kicks in as low as 1,800rpm, and so driveability is good with less frequent gear shifting. Find one in unspoiled condition, under 70,000km on the clock.

Price now: Rs. 4.95 lakh
Mahindra Bolero
The Mahindra Bolero moniker has been present in India for over two decades now and everyone across India knows it as the quintessential workhorse SUV. The SUV took over the mantel from the famed Mahindra Armada, and even after 20 years, was a best-seller for the homegrown carmaker.

It even received a mild facelift in 2020 with tweaks to its aesthetics, as well as the introduction of the BS6 1.5-litre, three-cylinder, mHawk75 diesel engine, that pumped out 75bhp @3,600rpm and 210Nm @1,600 - 2,200rpm. However, the one that we are recommending is the BS4 version of the Bolero in the SLX variant, which was a well-spec, value-for-money prospect.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is one of the most popular and a best-seller for the company. Over the years, it has received multiple makeovers, but the one that should be on your used car list, is the 2015 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga VDI, the same year when the SHVS or the smart hybrid system from Maruti was introduced.

2015 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga VDI SHVS
It offers decent fuel efficiency of 17.5kmpl, and even uses start-stop and brake energy recuperation to enhance mileage. Apart from this, you get the standard SmartPlay infotainment system, which includes a touchscreen, Bluetooth functionality, navigation, and a reverse camera.
Model: 2015 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga VDI SHVS
Price now: Rs. 4.10 lakh
Mahindra Marazzo
The M6 is the second top variant of the Mahindra Marazzo and gets LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, as well as body-colored ORVMs, 16-inch alloy wheels along remote keyless entry with central locking. The M6 variant is also equipped with a colored TFT screen for the instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system with a dedicated storage space of 1 GB to store your music, and gets an emergency call service which is the first in the segment.

2018 Mahindra Marazzo M6
You also get Bluetooth, Mahindra Blue Sense app, and navigation functions on this variant. The Marazzo is also the only 8-seater SUV on our list and only adds to its value. It also returns a healthy 17.30kmpl of efficiency from its 1,497cc diesel unit.

Price now: Rs. 8.06 lakh
Tata Safari Storme
The Safari badge is undoubted, the most recognizable moniker in India. But to replicate its success and add a bit more flair to the already capable Safari, the company introduced the Safari Storme and added everything that the Safari had to offer and more. At its peak, the Tata Safari Storme was the most powerful SUV in its segment. So, having one in your garage would only make sense, but the Safari Storme 2.2 Vx 4x2 Varicor400 variant would make more sense.

2016 Tata Safari Storme 2.2 Vx 4x2 Varicor400
It got a few tweaks here & there to differentiate it from the standard version, but the biggest bump was to its engine, as it now kicked 400Nm from as low as 1,750rpm. The 6-speed manual transmission was also a new addition. Go for the 4x2 variant rather than the full-blown 4x4 system.

Price now: Rs. 6.02 lakh
Toyota Innova Crysta
The Toyota Innova received a full generational leap in the form of the Innova Crysta in 2017, retaining its predecessor's silhouette, yet featuring a myriad of changes - both internally and externally. Inside, it received a 4.2-inch TFT MID, a 7-inch touchscreen system with DVD player, dedicated AC vents for the second and third row, etc. The new platform helped the Innova Crysta get lighter and stiffer than before. It came equipped with a 2.4-litre and a 2.8-litre diesel engine.

2017 Toyota Innova Crysta 2.4 G 7 STR
But the one that you should look for is the base version in the 7-seater layout with the smaller engine option. It is the most value for money proposition and can be dolled up with aftermarket accessories.

Price now: Rs. 9.59 lakh
