Highlights

We first heard about Toyota resurrecting the Supra badge with a new car and the company teased the audience with a new sports car through the Gran Tourismo game. Later on, we saw it in the flesh at the Detroit Motorshow recently, and it was christened the FT-1 concept.

Everyone who saw the car, fell in love with it and the suspicion of a new Supra coming our way grew stronger. We have now got wind of news that Toyota has infact, filed and registered the character mark 'Supra' with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

We aren't getting our hopes high because it is routine for car manufacturers to protect their trademarks and renew the dormant ones but if we see the timing of the FT-1 sports concept, the trademark renewal and put two and two together, we can definitely say that something's cooking.

Toyota is tight-lipped about all of this and say that their plans will be revealed soon enough. But for the Supra fans out there, we aren't jumping the gun when we say, the new Supra is on its way!
