TVS Rolls Out 50,000th BMW G 310 Series Motorcycle From India Plant

The first product to come from the BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor Company collaboration was the 310 cc platform and the company has achieved a production milestone of 50,000 for the new motorcycles. TVS announced that the company has rolled out the 50,000th unit of the BMW 310 cc motorcycle from its Hosur plant. The motorcycle was rolled out in the presence of Dr. Markus Schramm, Head of BMW Motorrad, and Mr. KN Radhakrishnan, Director & CEO, TVS Motor Company. TVS-BMW produce three motorcycles based on the 310 cc platform including the BMW G 310 R, BMW G 310 GS and the TVS Apache RR 310. The 50,000th motorcycle to rollout is a G 310 R.

The BMW G 310 R was first unveiled in late 2015 while exports commenced in December 2016

The BMW G 310 GS offers a comfortable ride and glides over all kinds of surfaces with poise
The TVS-BMW collaboration was first announced in April 2013 with the partnership to spawn sub-500 cc motorcycles for global markets. The BMW G 310 R was the first product to be revealed in late 2015, which was followed by the G 310 GS in 2016 and the Apache RR 310 is 2017. While the BMW motorcycles went on sale globally in 2016 itself, the India launch only happened earlier this year.
Exports for the BMW G 310 R and the G 310 GS commenced in December 2016 and the are sold in over 90 countries. Both bikes draw power from the 313 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine tuned for 34 bhp at 9500 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 7500 rpm. The motor comes paired with a 6-speed transmission, and uses 41 mm USD forks up front with a monoshock setup at the rear. Braking performance comes from a 300 mm disc up front and a 240 mm disc brake at the rear. The bikes get dual-channel ABS as standard.

The BMW G 310 R is priced at Rs. 2.99 lakh, while the BMW G 310 GS is priced at Rs. 3.49 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). For those wanting to pick either of the motorcycles, the company is offering year-end discounts and benefits of up to Rs. 70,000, which include cash discounts, free insurance and reduced interest rates and more.
