Highlights

In a bid to increase its market share in the highly competitive mid-sized sedan segment, Volkswagen India today rolled out the 2015 Vento facelift at a starting price of Rs. 7.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). As against the segment's top two players - Honda City (over 7,000 units/month) and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz (Over 5,000 units/month) - the Vento has been struggling to sell even 1,000 units/month. And with new styling updates, features and more frugal engines, the Vento is now aiming to attract the masses.

The 2015 Volkswagen Vento has got several design updates, along with a set of new features. Though, the most significant update has come in the form of fuel economy. The company has tuned Vento's petrol variants - 1.2-litre TSI & 1.6-litre MPI - to return 7 per cent more fuel efficiency, and its diesel version - 1.5-litre TDI -  to return 2 per cent better mileage.

Coming to the design, the updated Volkswagen Vento features a new front fascia that has a new hood, a triple-slat chrome grille, new bumper with a chrome strip, new fog lamps and few other changes. The rear profile, too, looks slightly different with new tail-lamps, bumper and revised exhaust tip and lid.

As mentioned before, the vehicle has received several new features as well such as cruise control, electrically-operated outside rear-view mirrors with LED turn signals, dead pedal, chilled glove-box, etc. Though the 2015 Volkswagen Vento's interiors remain unchanged, the company has offered two new colour schemes - Walnut Desert Beige (with Highline trim) and Cloud Titanschwarz (With Trendline and Comfortline trims).
