2018 Independence Day: Top 5 Discounts On Cars

Are you planning to buy a new car? Then you've come to the right place, as the month of August has hefty discounts on some of the most popular cars in the country. What else? You also get to be patriotic as India celebrates its 72nd Independence Day this year and carmakers are making sure to give the biggest discounts, exchange bonus along with offers on free insurance. We have listed down discounts, and various offers from Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Hyundai, Tata Motors and Mahindra. However, these are not the only discounts on offer this Independence Day, we are sure this list will help you make the right choice and bring in the newest member in your family.

Maruti Suzuki
We start off with the largest car manufacturer in the country, Maruti Suzuki, which is all set to usher in the Ciaz facelift in the coming week. Maruti is offering benefits of up to Rs. 80,000 as part of its Freedom Celebration and another Rs. 50,000 in exchange bonus if the old car is less than 7 years old. You can also get an exchange bonus of Rs. 50,000 on your old Maruti car if it's more than 7 years old. That's not all; Maruti is also offering a discount of Rs. 1.3 lakh on the Ciaz since July to clear stocks for the upcoming Ciaz facelift.

The Ignis in its petrol iteration too fetches a discount of Rs 35,000 as part of the Freedom Celebration and another Rs. 25,000 off in exchange bonus if the old car is less than 7 years old. You can also get an exchange bonus of Rs. 25,000 on your old Maruti car if it's more than 7 years old. The CNG version of the Wagon-R also gets a hefty cash discount of almost Rs. 35,000 in the Freedom Celebration scheme and another exchange bonus of Rs. 30,000 for less than 7 years and Rs. 20,000 exchange bonus on old car if it's more than 7 years old.

Honda
In the mid-sized sedan segment, the Honda City gets an exchange bonus of Rs. 20,000 along with the free first year insurance. For the pre-facelift Jazz as well, Honda has a cash discount of Rs. 75,000 for the month of August, while the Brio gets the first year insurance free. Moreover, the WR-V gets 50 per cent on its first year insurance along with exchange bonus of Rs. 20,000. The BR-V, on the other hand, gets benefits worth Rs. 1 lakh which includes free insurance for the first year, Rs. 50,000 in exchange bonus and free accessories worth Rs. 16,000.

Honda is also getting ready for the launch of the new generation CR-V which is scheduled for in October. Ahead of the launch though, the company is clearing stocks of the older generation and is offering cash discount of Rs. 1.5 lakh to clear the inventory.

Hyundai
The second largest carmaker, Hyundai is also offering hefty discounts on some of its popular products like the Verna gets an exchange discount of Rs. 20,000 along with an additional corporate discount of Rs. 20,000. The new Grand i10 gets a cash discount of Rs. 50,000 along with an exchange offer of Rs. 20,000 and also a Rs. 20,000 loyalty bonus for existing Hyundai owners. The Xcent too gets a cash discount of Rs. 40,000 along with an exchange bonus of Rs. 45,000. The hatchback and the crossover hatch, the Elite i20 and the Active i20 both get Rs. 20,000 exchange bonus.

For the corporate, Hyundai has an additional discount under Focus 300 Scheme with special benefits for government employee, CA, Doctors. This includes an additional discount of Rs. 5,000 on the Grand i10 & I20, Rs. 10,000 off on the Xcent, Rs. 20,000 on the Verna, Rs. 30,000 on the Elantra and Rs. 50,000 on the Tucson. The South Korean carmaker is also offering first year insurance free and an exchange bonus of Rs. 30,000 on the Elantra and the Tucson. The Creta however, has no discounts on offer.

Tata Motors
Homegrown carmaker, Tata Motors too is offering hefty discounts and exchange offers on its popular products. The Tiago gets the first year Insurance covered along with exchange offer of Rs. 10,000. The plus side here is that you can get the benefit on the exchange of old Nano, Alto, Santro and even the Wagon R. The Tigor too gets similar offer. The Nexon on the other hand get the first year of insurance covered at a discounted price of Rs. 5000 along with Rs. 15,000 exchange bonus.

Tata's compact SUV, Nexon also gets first year insurance free along with a discount in price of Rs. 5,000 and exchange bonus of Rs. 15,000. Moreover, the Hexa SUV too gets the same insurance deal but at an discounted rate of Rs. 10,000 and exchange bonus of Rs. 25,000. The company is also offering additional corporate discount for select employees of MNC in range of Rs. 2000 to Rs. 3000.

Mahindra
Mahindra also has huge discounts on its models such as the KUV100, TUV300, Thar, Scorpio and also the new XUV500 facelift. Starting off with the KUV100, Mahindra offers cash discount of Rs. 20,000 on the K2 while the K4 gets Rs. 26,000 discount. Moreover, the company also offers additional exchange bonus of Rs. 29,000. The K6+ and the K8 variant gets Rs. 40,000 cash discount and an additional Rs. 29000 exchange bonus. The TUV300 on the other hand gets a cash discount of Rs. 35,000, while the new TUV300 Plus P4 variant gets Rs. 20,000 cash discount and an additional Rs. 25,000 exchange bonus.

The off-roader Thar however only gets corporate discount of Rs. 6000. The popular Scorpio gets Rs. 43,000 cash discount and an additional Rs. 10,000 in exchange bonus for the S5, S7 and S11 variants. The new XUV500 gets a Rs. 20,000 exchange bonus. Moreover, Mahindra also offers additional corporate discount of Rs. 4000 on the KUV100, Rs. 5000 off on the TUV300 and Rs. 5500, Rs. 6000, Rs. 10,000 discount on the Scorpio, Thar and the XUV500 respectively.
