Auto Expo 2016: Triumph Street Twin May Be Priced at Rs. 6.5 Lakh

Somewhere in October, Triumph Motorcycles announced the arrival of five new Bonneville motorcycles. Out of the five announced motorcycles - Street Twin, T120, T120 Black, Thruxton and Thruxton R - three bikes will make it to the Indian market. Two of these three motorcycles, coming to India sometime in 2016, are the Street Twin and T120. Where the Street Twin has an all-new 900cc engine producing 54bhp of power, the T120 is powered by a 1,200cc engine whose specifications have not been revealed yet by Triumph.
Considering the price announced by Triumph of both these models in the UK market, it is expected that Triumph should price the Street Twin somewhere around the 6.5 lakh bracket and the T120 should hover somewhere around the 8.5-lakh mark.
Where the current Bonneville has an 865cc mill delivering peak torque of 61Nm, the new 900cc engine produces 80Nm, and 54bhp of optimum power. The current Bonneville retails for Rs. 6,19,990 (Ex-showroom, Delhi) in the Indian market, and the Street Twin, if gets launched around Rs. 6.5 lakh, it should carry forward the legacy the Bonneville has created in India.
Where the current T100, which uses the same 865cc engine and delivers the same numbers, is priced at Rs. 6,97,610 (Ex-showroom, Delhi), you might have to cough up a little more for the T120, which is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs. 8.5 lakh. But the new engine makes up for the extra cash as it produces 105Nm of torque against the T100's 61Nm which is 54% more than the figure the T100 delivers.
Exact prices of both these machines would be hard to speculate, but we can't rule out the possibility of we being very close to the figures, which should start coming with the Auto Expo starting in less than two months.
