BMW G 310 R, the long awaited street motorcycle developed by the German auto giant and TVS Motorcycle Company, was recently spotted in India again. The bike, which is slated for a 2017 launch now, was seen without any camouflage this time and in the much appreciated metallic Strato blue colour. We first saw the bike in India at the 2016 Auto Expo and since then there have been no significant changes made to the bike, except for some minor cosmetic fitments.

The test mule seen in these images is also deprived of all the stickering and graphics, except for the BMW logo. And insisted of the dual tone exhaust the bike is now seen with an all-chrome exhaust pipe, which could just be the case with the test mule. Apart from that, the rest of the bike looks exactly the same as the one shown at the Auto Expo.

BMW G 310 R Spied
It gets the same gold painted USD (up-side down) forks up front and monoshocks suspension at the rear. Five-spoke cast aluminium wheels with 300 mm disc brake with four-piston fixed caliper at the front and a 240 mm disc brake with single-piston floating caliper at the rear. Other features include large chiselled tank, long wide handlebars, and Michelin tyres among others. The bike will also come with dual-channel ABS are standard. The BMW G310 R is powered by a 313cc, single cylinder liquid-cooled engine that is capable of churning out 34bhp at 9,500rpm and a peak torque of 28Nm at 7,500rpm. It will be getting a 6-speed transmission.
BMW was supposed to launch the bike in India during the upcoming festive season, but now the company has postponed the launch to 2017, saying that there are supply issues which need to be addressed first. According to the company, the first few production runs might not be able to cater to the demand, which it expects to receive from the market. Thus, TVS and BMW want to make sure that the customers do not have to wait for an indefinite period after making the booking for the motorcycle.
The BMW G310R will rival the likes of KTM 390 Duke, Kawasaki Z250 and will be priced in the INR 1.5-2.0 lakh bracket. In fact the bike is cheaper than the KTM 390 Duke in UK.
