Chennai Floods: Maruti Gives Rs. 2 Cr and Deputes 200 New Technicians

In its official statement, Maruti Suzuki India mentions that the contribution is to strengthen the relief and rebuilding efforts of the Government for victims of the recent floods in Tamil Nadu. Additionally the carmaker has also initiated number service activities to aid its customers with vehicles damaged in the untimely flood.
Currently a total of 500 technicians are working in the Maruti Suzuki network workshops in the State, who will soon be joined by the additional 200 expert technicians. Maruti has deputed this additional manpower to Chennai from its national service network across India to cater to this increased workload. In addition the carmaker has pressed into service 31 Maruti Mobile Vans to supplement the workshops. Moreover, Maruti Suzuki has shipped additional spare parts to Tamil Nadu, and has made special arrangements with the insurance companies to speed up survey and approval process.
In its statement, the company claims that in the past week alone, around 6500 Maruti Suzuki vehicles impacted by the flood were reported to Maruti Suzuki dealer workshops. Out of these 6500 vehicles around 1000 vehicles have already been repaired and returned to their customers, till date. Additionally the carmaker has also arranged special helplines and dedicated cells to assist customers to tow vehicles to the workshops. Moreover, the company has claimed that it will be barring 50% of the depreciation amount to be paid by its customers for flood affected vehicles repaired under insurance.
