Customers Reporting AC Cooling Issues With Skoda Slavia, Kushaq

- Owners complaining over ineffective or improper cooling from AC unit
- Complaints reported by Slavia, Kushaq and VW Taigun owners
- Both companies acknowledge having received complaints
Having previously been hampered by fuel pump issues, the Skoda Kushaq and Slavia are now facing issues with their air conditioning unit. With summer temperatures now starting to soar across the country some owners have come forward on social media complaining of the lack of effective cooling from their car's air conditioning unit. The issue seems to also be affecting the Kushaq's sister model the VW Taigun with both companies now have put out statements on social media acknowledging the problem and saying that a solution was being looked into.
undefined@Zac_Hollis_ @SkodaIndia @SKODAIndia_PR please look in the matter of AC tripping continuously and not cooling the cabin.Current temperature in gujarat and rajasthan is 47. Please look into the matter immediately. The AC you fitted in slavia is not an AC it is just an hot blower.

“We are aware of the feedback from some customers regarding the AC effectiveness in certain driving conditions and our engineers are investigating how to improve this. Please be assured that this has the highest priority,” said Zac Hollis, Head of Sales, Skoda India in response to a tweet complaining on the lack of cooling on a Slavia.
Digging further we discovered similar complaints being reported by multiple twitter users including for the Slavia's sibling, the Kushaq compact SUV.

.Some owners have reported similar complaints with the AC unit on the VW Taigun
VW too has seemingly received its share of complaints over similar issues with the Taigun. The company in a recent tweet said, “We are aware that a few customers might have faced AC cooling concerns, especially in the regions where the temperatures are soaring high. There are chances that it takes more time to bring cabin temperature as per the occupant's requirement. Please be assured that our technical teams are working to analyse further the improvements in AC performance in specific operating conditions. In the meantime kindly visit your nearest dealership and they will assist you further.”

The issue seems to be primarily with the AC unit on the 1.0 TSI engine. One user compalined of a similar issue with the Slavia 1.5 TSI with Hollis responding that the company had not received any feedback about a weak AC on the larger hearted models.
undefinedThen we need to check this at the Service Centre as we have no feedback regarding weak AC in 1.5DSG.

Skoda recently updated the Slavia and Kushaq rolling out the models with a new 8.0-inch touchscreen in place of the original 10.1-inch unit. The company said that the move was to prevent any delays in model deliveries owing to the ongoing semiconductor shortages. The Kushaq Monte Carlo though retains the larger touchscreen. The company also rolled out a new 1.0 TSI Style NSR (Non Sunroof) variant of the Kushaq.
