Ford's CEO Jim Farley Gives Tesla Credit For Pushing EVs

Recently VW's CEO Herbert Diess gave Tesla credit for pushing EVs, but now he has been joined by Jim Farley, the CEO of Ford. Jim Farley responding to a tweet by Tesla's CEO Elon Musk wrote, "Thanks for leading the way." Musk's tweet drew credit towards Ford and Tesla claiming that they were the only US-based automakers who had not gone bankrupt. 

Adding to Farley's tweets - the Ford motor company Twitter account also commented, " Thanks, Elon. We couldn't agree more. See you at the charging station." 

Musk has often drawn attention to the fact that Tesla and Ford are the only American makers that have never gone bankrupt. During the economic meltdown of 2008, even GM went bankrupt and needed the support of the US government to survive. 

Ford recently showed off the F-150 Lightning 

Ford and GM have joined Tesla in electrifying their portfolios. GM's CEO Mary Barra recently said that she was confident that her company would catch up to Tesla in terms of market share. 

Ford also unveiled the F-150 lightning pickup truck which has an electric powertrain and was even endorsed and driven by president Joe Biden. Ford has already launched the Mushtaq EV and has a number of new EVs in the pipeline.
