Kawasaki Z900 RS Teased

- The Kawasaki Z900 RS is based on the Z900 naked
- It will get the same engine as the Z900 but in a different state of tune
- There is no clarity on whether the Z900 RS will be launched in India
The Kawasaki UK Facebook Page has released a teaser video of the Z900 RS, which confirms that the company was indeed working on a retro-themed model of the Z900 naked motorcycle. The Kawasaki Z900 RS draws inspiration from the legendary Kawasaki Z1, which was launched in the 1970s. The teaser video clearly shows that the Z900 RS will get oodles of chrome along with upside down forks and radial brakes. The exhaust can too has been done fully in chrome along with the headlamp unit. From what we gather, the Z900 Rs will be built on the same trellis frame that the Z900 has been built on. The bike will offer slightly relaxed ergonomics as compared to the full-blown Z900 naked.

(Kawasaki Z900 RS)As far as the engine is concerned, the Kawasaki Z900 RS will most probably use the same 4-cylinder engine which is on the Z900. Chances are that Kawasaki might change the tuning of the engine to offer a relaxed ride, going in stride with the overall look of the motorcycle instead of slick, super responsive unit on the Z900.
(Kawasaki Z900 RS)Also, the instrumentation panel has two separate pods. Whether they are analogue or digital or a combination of both, it remains to be seen. The colour scheme too will be retro and expect Kawasaki to offer multiple colour options. The company will be unveiling the Z900 RS at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. There is no clarity on whether this bike will make its way to India or not. Having said that, we would love to see the Kawasaki Z900 RS on Indian roads for sure!
