Mahindra Says New Scorpio-N Could Outsell the XUV700

Speaking to carandbike at the recent strategic EV investment announcement, Dr Anish Shah, CEO, Mahindra and Mahindra said, “From all the indication we have, from what we’ve been told its going to be bigger than the XUV700 which would be huge.” Mahindra announced prices for all the manual two-wheel drive variants of the Scorpio late last month with prices for the automatics and 4x4 models to be revealed in the coming weeks. The mStallion turbo petrol engine is tuned for 200 bhp and 380 Nm (370 Nm in manual) while the diesel is available with an output of 130 bhp and 300Nm on the base model and a stronger 172 bhp and 370 Nm (400 Nm on the automatic). At the time of launch the first and second batch of 25,000 bookings were picked up in record time when the windows opened – in minutes rather than hours.
