Mahindra's Passenger Vehicle Production Stood At Over 19,000 Units In October 2021

- Mahindra produced 19,286 SUVs in Oct 2021, Sees a 26.7% MoM growth
- Mahindra produced 1,9176 units of the electric 3-Wheelers in October 2021
- Production of CVs stood at 21,763 units last month; Up by 45.3%
Mahindra & Mahindra has announced production figures for October 2021. Last month, the Indian utility vehicle maker manufactured 19,286 passenger vehicles, registering a marginal Year-on-Year (YoY) growth of 1.8 per cent against 18,931 units manufactured in October 2020. However, compared to 15,220 SUVs manufactured in September 2021, the company recorded a Month-on-Month (MoM) growth of 26.7 per cent. With the ongoing semiconductor shortage, the company recently said that it has witnessed a production loss of 32,000 units across its portfolio in Q2, 2021.

In September 2021, the company produced 1976 units of electric three-wheelers in India
In the three-wheelers and light commercial vehicles category, the automaker manufactured 1042 units last month and witnessed a decline of 58.7 per cent against 2527 units produced in October 2020. Compared to 1175 units manufactured in September 2021, the company registered a month-on-month (M-o-M) decline of over 38 per cent.
Last month, the company produced 1976 units of electric three-wheelers, recording a triple-digit growth of 120 per cent against 896 electric 3-wheelers manufactured in October 2020. Compared to 1476 units produced in September 2021, Mahindra recorded an MoM growth of 33.8 per cent. As for Commercial Vehicles, the company produced 21,763 units in October 2021, registering a growth of 45.3 per cent against 14,969 units manufactured in the corresponding month last year.

Mahindra sold 20,034 utility vehicles in October 2021
As for sales, Mahindra's overall auto sales (passenger vehicles+ commercial vehicles+ exports) for October 2021 stood at 41,908 units compared to 44,359 vehicles sold in the same month last year, recording a Year-on-Year (YoY) decline of 5.5 per cent. However, the Utility Vehicle (UV) segment accounted for 20,034 units last month, registering a 9 per cent growth compared to 18,317 vehicles sold in October 2020. The company also exported 3174 units from India in October 2021, out of which SUVs accounted for 799 units.
