Maruti Suzuki Dzire Tour S With CNG Kit To Be Launched Soon; Specs Leaked

- Maruti Suzuki Tour S, which is based on the previous generation Dzire
- The CNG kit will be paired with the company's existing 1.2-litre engine
- In petrol mode the car will make 83 bhp, while in CNG mode 70 bhp
Maruti Suzuki India might soon introduce the Dzire Tour S model with a factory-fitted a CNG kit, as indicated by a recently leaked transport department circular. The Maruti Suzuki Tour S, which is based on the previous generation Dzire, is a car made for the taxi segment and was launched right before the company introduced the new-gen Dzire subcompact sedan. Now, owing to the demand for CNG models in the fleet segment, the company seems to have decided to launch the bi-fuel model, powered by both petrol and CNG.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Tour S CNG will get the 1.2-litre petrol engine
The CNG kit will be paired with the company's existing 1.2-litre K-Series 4-cylinder petrol engine, which can also run on compress natural gas a.k.a. CNG. The power output remains the same when driven in petrol mode - 83 bhp at 6000 rpm, while in CNG mode to the drops down to about 70 bhp at the same 6000 rpm. The document doesn't reveal the torque figures but the regular petrol model develops about 113 Nm at 4200 rpm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
In terms of design and dimensions, the car remains similar to the previous, second-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire, measuring 3,995 mm in length, 1,695 mm in width and 1,555 mm in height and offers a wheelbase of 2,430 mm. The car will be based on the lower LXi model and will thus offer the basic features like power steering, front power windows, dual airbags, and so on.
Right not there is no word as to when the company will launch the new Maruti Suzuki Tour S CNG, but we expect the car to hit the market in the next couple of months. Last month the company launched the Tour version of its compact hatch Celerio, christened the Celerio Tour H2.
