In May 2021, Maruti Suzuki's total sales stood at 40,924 units.
In a regulatory filing, Maruti Suzuki India said, "Production figures of June 2021 to be seen in the context that the Company advanced its maintenance shutdown, which is usually scheduled for June in any normal year, to May 2021. Also, the production in June 2020 was far from normal owing to COVID-19 related lockdowns and disruptions. Hence comparison of June 2021 production figures with that of any previous year would not be very meaningful."
The company produced 40,924 units in May 2021 against 165,576 units, witnessing a month-on-month (MoM) growth of over 300 per cent. The total number of passenger vehicles manufactured last month were 1,63,037 units in comparison to 49,476 units in the corresponding month last year, witnessing a triple-digit growth of 229 per cent.
