Maruti Suzuki India has issued a recall for its light commercial vehicle (LCV) Super Carry mini truck in India. The company says that it is a voluntary recall to inspect for a possible defect in fuel pump assembly. The Indo-Japanese automaker has confirmed that a total 640 Super Carry vehicles will be covered under this recall campaign, all of which were manufactured between 20th Jan 2018 till 14th July 2018. Maruti Suzuki has announced that from October 3, 2018, onwards owners of the vehicles included in this recall campaign will be contacted by Maruti Suzuki dealers for inspection and replacement of the faulty part, which will be free of cost.

Customers who own the Super Carry can themselves check whether their vehicle is covered under the recall or not. All they have to do is click the 'customer info' on the Maruti Suzuki India's website and fill in the chassis number (MA3 followed by a 14-digit alpha-numeric number) to check if their vehicle needs any attention.
In addition to the Maruti Suzuki has also stated that the recall campaigns have been undertaken globally to rectify faults that may be potential safety defects. Currently, the Maruti Suzuki Super Carry mini-truck is exported to markets like South Africa and Tanzania.
The Maruti Suzuki Super Carry is offered in two different engine options - a 2-cylinder turbo-charged 793 cc diesel engine that makes 32 bhp at 3500 rpm and develops 75 Nm of peak torque at 2000 rpm. Maruti also offers the Super Carry with an all-new 1200 cc CNG engine variant. The engines are mated to a 5-speed transmission as standard.
