New Toyota Innova Images and Details Leaked

Images and features of the new-gen Toyota Innova have been leaked on the internet ahead of its global launch, which is likely to be next month. The pictures are from the brochure of an Indonesian-spec Toyota Innova, which were leaked by autonetmagz.com. It seems like the carmaker has been busy and the results show with the new Toyota Innova undergoing significant changes to its exterior as well as interior.

The front gets a big hexagonal grill which houses two thick chrome slats which gives the car an aggressive look if you face it head on. The headlamp units house LED daytime-running lamps as well and we hope the India-bound versions are equipped with the same. The images also reveal that the side profile of the new Innova is more muscular with sculpted lines.

The Innova will be powered by the brand-new GD series engines from Toyota and Indonesia will get automatic transmission variants for both the diesel and petrol. Let's hope India gets the same treatment since the diesel automatic version is likely to find quite a few takers if the Japanese carmaker gets its pricing right.
Buyers will be able to make a choice between a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.

Moving on to the interiors and the feature list, the Toyota Innova is likely to offer its intelligent key and push-button start feature in its higher trims. The dual-tone dashboard has been heavily reworked and seems a lot sleeker with chrome-finish accents.
The interior of the Innova is dominated by a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which features voice command recognition, Bluetooth, AUX and SD card support. The infotainment system in the higher-end trims, at least in Indonesia, will get a better infotainment console with HDMI input and Miracast Wi-Fi support along with internet browsing facility.

A cooled glovebox and a telescopic steering with tilt function are likely to be offered across all variants. Again, it remains to be seen if Toyota decides to bring these goodies to India.
The top-end variant will be equipped with a total of seven airbags, while the base version will get dual front airbags. The new Innova may also get stability control and hill-start assist standard across all trims.

The all-new Toyota Innova, with its spanking-new features and backed by Toyota's strong after-sales network, will look to build on its immense popularity in the Indian market. In addition, the diesel-automatic combo seems like a winner on paper.

However, we will just have to wait for the Japanese car giant to make an official announcement about what it is going to offer in terms of specs and features in India while keeping a price point in mind.
