The report further claimed that Nitin Gadkari suggested that the country will soon shift to green fuels as an alternative to Petrol, and this will also include bio-fuels. Gadkari gave the example of bio-ethanol, which is being made in Maharashtra’s Vidarbha district by farmers, and said that farmers can contribute by being energy providers, and not just food providers. He also said that green hydrogen can also be used as an alternative fuel, and can be made from deep well water and sold for Rs. 70 per kg.

How many of these claims materialise though, remains to be seen.
