Renault Boreal SUV Debuts; 7-Seat Model Set For India Launch In 2026

- The SUV has been revealed in a 5-seat version
- Boreal also gets a flex-fuel model
- The SUV gets 24 Level 2 ADAS functions
Renault has taken the wraps off the Boreal SUV, which is expected to make its way to the India in 2026. Developed specifically for markets outside Europe, the Boreal will be the 7-seat derivative of the new Renault Duster. It is built on the brand's new ultra-flexible Kardian platform and will enter the highly competitive C segment in our market.

The SUV has an unladen ground clearance of 213 mm
The dimensions of Boreal are impressive with the SUV being more than 4.50 meters long and 1.84 meters wide. Its wheelbase spans 2700 mm and brand has decided to keep short overhangs to ensure more cabin space. Exterior highlights include a body colour grille featuring a backlit NouvelR logo, LED headlights extending towards the wings and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Boreal gets a driver-oriented cockpit
The cabin features twin 10-inch screens a part of a single unit, panoramic sunroof, dual zone climate control and 48-colour ambient lighting. As of now the SUV gets two upholstery options with contrast stiching - Pure cool grey for Turkey and Blue for Latam region. The front seats are electric with memory settings while the driver also gets a massage function. The SUV also has in-car Google integration along with a premium Harman Kardon sound system.

The version revealed for now has 5-seats and comes with a boot space of 586 litres
The Boreal runs on a 1.3 litre turbocharged engine available in both Petrol and flex-fuel forms depending on the markets. It generates a maximum power of 160 bhp in the flex fuel model and a peak torque of up to 270 Nm. Engine is mated to a 6-speed dual clutch transmission and 0-100 kmph is done in 9.60 seconds.
The SUV also gets multiple drive modes
The Boreal has also with as many 24 Level 2 ADAS functions including Automatic Emergency Braking System, Lane Keeping Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control along with Hands-Free Parking and 360-view camera. Brazil will be the first market to get the Boreal later this year while the most of the other intended markets will see its launch in 2026.
