Renault Kwid Crosses 1.5 Lakh Bookings Mark

- Renault Kwid was launched in September, 2015
- The hatchback achieved this feat in less than an year
- Waiting period for the car currently ranges between 4 - 6 months
Renault Kwid, launched in September 2015, has crossed the 1.5 lakh bookings milestone. It must be noted that Renault's entry-level hatchback achieved this feat in less than an year. The Kwid has been going strong with orders since it first arrived in India; it had received over 25,000 bookings within a week. In fact, the hatchback's sustained momentum also aided the growth of the French carmaker's market share from 2.3 per cent to 3.8 per cent. The demand, in turn, is accompanied by a substantial waiting period.
In order to keep up with the orders, Renault recently increased the Kwid's production to 10,000 units per month. Now the average waiting period for the Renault Kwid currently ranges between 4 - 6 months.

The Renault Kwid comes loaded with a host of features such as electric power steering, one-touch lane change indicator, power assisted windows, MediaNAV infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, USB & AUX-input ports, and speed sensing volume control, etc.. Renault also offers a 50,000Km / 2 years maintenance policy on the Kwid that can be further extended up to 80,000Km / 4 years, and complementary Road Side Assistance for 2 years.
Other than 98 per cent localisation, Renault's latest hit in India's automobile market comes powered an 800cc petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The motor develops 54bhp and 72Nm of peak torque, and offers a fuel-efficiency of 25.17km/l. Interestingly, Renault will soon introduce a bigger, 1.0-litre engine and also an automated manual transmission (AMT) on the Kwid.
