Tata Hexa: Customisation Options

- Tata Hexa will come with 3 customisation kits - Tuff, Expedition and Luxe
- You can get the Hexa in either a six or seven-seater configuration
- Tata Hexa is powered by the company's 2.2-litre VARICOR engine
The Tata Hexa has been launched at a price of Rs. 11.99 lakh and is expected be a redefining product for Tata Motors. While the Tiago has been the turnaround product for the automaker, the Hexa is expected to build on its success and establish as a new flagship for the auto giant. Tata will be catering to a more premium demographic with the Hexa and the company is going the extra mile to offer a more personalised experience on the purchase of the vehicle. Well, that's where the three customisable kits come into picture and promise a personal touch to the crossover. Here are the prices for the Tata Hexa.

We have driven the crossover and can tell you that the three new custom kits - Tuff, Expedition and Luxe - will add to the crossover's appeal. Here's all you need to know about the Hexa customisation options.

Tuff Kit
The Tuff Kit package was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and managed to garner positive feedback from the masses. The kit adds new bits to the exterior including a body kit, roof box, side sills and rear skirts; while the interior gets updated with additional features like a Head Up Display (HUD), wireless charging and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). A support tray along with 3D modular mats and a host of other smaller additions complete the package. The custom kit is expected to cost around Rs. 1.3 lakh above the ex-showroom price of the Hexa. And yes, add that kit to the 4x4 version of the crossover and you are bound to get a more off-road ready model complementing the new Terrain Management System.
Expedition Kit
Those looking to do some exploring with the Hexa can opt for the Expedition Kit as it is designed for the outdoor activity types and long distance travellers. The Expedition Kit adds accessories and features including a roof-mounted luggage rack, puddle lights, and a large waterproof luggage bag for the roof. You also get a shovel, should you have to dig yourself out of the sand or slush! You also get a foldable, roof-mounted canopy that extends the Hexa's cabin space - almost like Ching pwc a mobile home. The Expedition Kit is expected to cost around Rs. 50,000 over the ex-showroom price.
Luxe Kit
Now, for those looking to convert the Hexa into a very swanky ride, the Luxe Kit adds a host of premium accessories to the crossover including a new grille garnish, headlamp garnish and new Outside Rearview Mirror (ORVM) covers. There is chrome on the taillight cluster and tailgate, while you also get side body-mouldings, chromed door handles, puddle lights and an illuminated front logo. The cabin features a wireless charger, anti-skid mats, carpets as well as a chiller box. Purely cosmetic on the upgrades, the Luxe Kit is expected to set you back by around Rs. 35,000 over the Hexa's ex-Showroom price.
While Tata Motors will be selling those three customised kits on the Hexa, the crossover will also come with additional accessories like a tailgate mounted bicycle carrier, four different leather seat cover options, and a side step. There will also be Hexa-themed watches from Titan - Dynamic, Comfort and Rough Road.
With more cars being owner specific, personalisation options are an interesting proposition and allows buyers to stand out amidst the crowd - especially relevant for younger buyers.
No wonder then, manufacturers are going that extra mile to provide in-house customisation options on their new vehicles. While Ford India has been one of the first to offer customisation on the EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki was quick to take note of the potential and does so with the Vitara Brezza and now the Ignis, with its iCreate customisation program. Other manufacturers too are coming up with a host of accessories at the dealer level that help customers bring a personal touch to their cars.
