Tata Nexon XM+(S) Variant Launched; Priced from Rs 9.75 lakh

- New variant priced about Rs 55,000 more than the XM(S)
- Company says sales of Nexon have crossed the 3.5 lakh unit mark
- Available with both petrol and diesel engine options
Tata has launched another new variant for the standard Nexon. The new XM+(S) variant costs about Rs 55,000 more than the standard XM(S) and gets some additional features from the higher-spec XZ+. The new variant is available with both petrol and diesel engine options with prices starting from Rs 9.75 lakh (ex-showroom). The new variant is available in four exterior colours - Calgary White, Daytona Grey, Flame Red and Foliage Green. Tata also revealed that sales for the Nexon had crossed the 3,50,000-unit mark in the country. The carmaker had rolled out 3,00,000th Nexon in India earlier this year.
| Variant | Petrol | Diesel |
| Nexon XM+(S) [Manual] | Rs 9.75 lakh | Rs 11.05 lakh |
| Nexon XMA+(S) [AMT] | Rs 10.40 lakh | Rs 11.70 lakh |
In terms of equipment, the most notable inclusion to the feature list is the 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system from the higher-spec XZ+. It comes replete with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality but is paired with the Harman-sourced 4-speaker system as against the XZ’s 8-speaker system. Other features to trickle down to the new variant include rear air-con vents, a 12V rear charging outlet and a cooled glove-box. Features such as a sunroof, auto headlamps and rain sensing wipers are carried over from the XM(S).
The new XM+(S) gets the addition of the 7.0-inch touchscreen from the XZ variants among other features.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajan Amba, Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Customer Care, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. said, “We are elated to witness the continued affinity of our consumers with the Nexon brand. The upward trajectory of Nexon sales in the country is backed by its immense popularity, recognition and our promise to deliver the best to the customers. With more than 3,50,000 Nexons on the road, it has successfully marked its place as the #1 SUV in India and has undoubtedly been the flagbearer of Tata Motors’ commitment to safety, paving the way for other segment-defining products from our stable. Taking this momentum ahead, we are happy to introduce the feature-rich XM+(S) variant, which will certainly diversify our Nexon portfolio further and draw newer customers to our showrooms.”
The latest variant introduction sees the total number of Nexon variants rise to 62 of which 33 are petrol and 29 are diesel.
The new XM+(S) variant is available with both the 118 bhp 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and the 108 bhp 1.5-litre diesel engines. Both are available with either a 6-speed manual or AMT gearbox.
The Nexon goes up against the New Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite in the subcompact SUV segment.
