Tata Punch To Make Virtual Debut In India Next Month

- The Tata Punch stays true to the HBX concept in terms of design.
- It will make its global debut in the first week of October 2021.

The Tata Punch is one of the highly anticipated upcoming launches of this year is likely to go on sale around Diwali this year. However, the carmaker will unveil the Punch next month on October 4, 2021 which is when we'll see the micro-SUV in flesh. Well! The Tata Punch is likely to be a Maruti Suzuki S-Presso rival but is claimed to be more than a jacked-up hatch. Earlier, Tata Motors confirmed that the Punch will have characteristics of an SUV and is likely to have segment-first features like traction modes (Sand, Rock, Mud), hill descent control and hill start assist among others, giving in more SUV credentials to handle treacherous terrain. That further will be complemented with higher ground clearance of approximately 185 mm and bigger 16-inch alloy wheels.

The new Tata Punch will be the first SUV to be built on the ALFA-ARC (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture), and it employs the Impact 2.0 design language. It's the new entry-level SUV in the company's line-up and will be positioned below the Nexon subcompact SUV in India. The front end looks aggressive with Tata's signature split lighting design. The black panel the houses the Tata logo also features a three tri-arrow pattern, flanked by the LED daytime time running lamps, while the main headlamp units are positioned below, which will come with projector lights. Most of the front section is heavily cladded and features a large tri-arrow design grille and large round fog lamps.

The Tata Punch will also get horizontal air-con vents with blue bezels.
The cabin of the Tata Punch was also unveiled and it will sport a minimalistic dashboard with a dual-tone black and white paint scheme. It will also get horizontal air-con vents with blue bezels. The Harman-sourced touchscreen infotainment system, similar to the one seen on the Altroz and the Nexon takes centre stage. The infotainment system is likely to be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and we also expect the top-spec model to get the iRA connected car tech. The image also confirmed that it will also be offered with the AMT option. The creature comforts list also includes a digital-analogue instrument cluster, flat-bottom steering wheel, engine start-stop button, automatic climate control, power windows in the front, fabric upholstery with some grey pattern, electrically adjustable ORVMs and white silver accents on the door handle among others.

The specifications have not been revealed, however, we expect the new Punch to come with the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine, which also powers the Altroz premium hatchback. The petrol mill is tuned to make 85 bhp and 113 Nm of power figures. It is likely to come with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and an optional AMT unit.
