Designed by Toyota's Calty Design Research Centre in Newport Beach, California, the new Concept-i car uses the power of an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) system to anticipate people's needs and act accordingly. The powerful artificial intelligence system is able to connect the car to the person behind the wheel, gradually learning things like driving patterns, schedules, frequent stops and much more. For example, the Concept-i estimates emotion and level of alertness by reading the driver's expressions, actions, and tone of voice in a complex manner and also compares general information, news on the web or your social media or GPS activity and more to estimates the driver's preferences. Toyota plans to conduct road tests of vehicles equipped with some of the concept car's functions in Japan by around 2020.
