New Toyota Innova Crysta Launched; Price Starts at Rs. 13.84 Lakh

- Price ranges between Rs. 13.84 lakh to Rs. 20.78 lakh (ex-showroom)
- Toyota Innova was first launched in India in 2005
- Gets two diesel engine options, no petrol
Toyota Innova Crysta, the second generation model of the Japanese carmaker's MPV, was launched in India after over 10 years. Available in four grades with manual transmission (Zx, Vx, Gx & G) and in two grades with an automatic transmission (Zx & Gx), the Innova Crysta's price ranges between Rs. 13.84 lakh - Rs. 20.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). One must note, Toyota is currently offering two diesel engine options on the new generation MPV.
First launched in the country in 2005 as a replacement for the Toyota Qualis, the Innova managed to be the segment best-seller despite the addition of competent MPVs/ MUVs such as Renault Lodgy, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, and Honda Mobilio in the market. (Read Toyota Innova Crysta vs Renault Lodgy Comparison Review here).
The all-new Toyota Innova Crysta largely retains its predecessor's silhouette and yet features a myriad of changes - both inside and outside. The Innova Crysta borrows design elements from the Toyota Corolla Altis and Camry with major changes received mostly at the front. As mentioned in our Toyota Innova Crysta review, the MPV sports a larger nose, a hexagonal front grille with two chrome slats, projector head-lamps with LED daytime running lamps, all-new fog lamps, and a new bumper. It also receives a handful of changes on the side and rear profile.

Inside, it gets a 4.2-inch TFT Multi Information Display, 7-inch touchscreen system with DVD player, dedicated AC vents for the second and third row, and 20 bottle holders, etc. For safety, Innova Crysta gets three airbags (front driver, front passenger, and driver knee) and ABS with EBD as a standard provision across all trims. However, the top-end variant gets 7 airbags: driver, front passenger, driver knee, front side, and curtain shield airbags.

Toyota Innova Crysta Dashboard
The Innova Crysta is built on an all-new platform, Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA), that, according to the Japanese carmaker, is lighter and yet stiffer as compared to the one that underpinned the exiting model. It is offered with a choice of two diesel engines: the 2.4-litre and the 2.8-litre diesel engines. While the former puts out 147bhp and 343Nm of maximum torque, the 2.8-litre motor promises 171bhp along with a peak torque of 360Nm. For transmission, the Toyota Innova Crysta gets a choice between a 5-speed manual gearbox (only on 2.4-litre) and a 6-speed automatic transmission (only on 2.8-litre).
