Two-Wheeler Sales August 2021: Suzuki Motorcycle Records 27 Per Cent Growth

Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL), the two-wheeler subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, has reported overall sales of 73,463 units in the month of August 2021. According to Suzuki Motorcycle India, the company sold 61,809 units in the domestic market, and exported 11,654 units in August 2021. A year ago, in August 2020, Suzuki Motorcycle India had despatched a total of 57,909 two-wheelers. The company has expressed optimism about sales picking up further in the coming months, as positive consumer sentiment picks up.

The Suzuki Access 125 is one of the brand's most popular 125 cc scooters.

Speaking on the two-wheeler brand's sales in August 2021, Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd. said, "With the unlock phase, the two-wheeler industry is now marching towards normalcy while continuing to adhere to all the precautionary measures. As a result, the customer sentiments are improving day by day which is positive news for the industry. In August 2021, we have witnessed almost 27 per cent year-on-year increase in our total sales."

The Suzuki Access 125 is one of the most popular two-wheelers from Suzuki Motorcycle India. In the commuter motorcycle space, the Suzuki Gixxer 155, as well as Suzuki Gixxer SF are popular models which are well-rounded products. Earlier this year, in June 2021, Suzuki launched the updated 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa in India, and both the first and second batches of the assembled-in-India Suzuki Hayabusa were sold out within days of bookings being opened. Going forward, Suzuki will be looking to enter the electric vehicle space, with an electric variant of its Burgman Street scooter.
