Upcoming Maruti Suzuki S-Presso Spotted Testing In India Again

The all-new Maruti Suzuki S-Presso crossover was recently spotted testing in India, ahead of its official launch during the upcoming festive season. As seen with some the previous test mules, the prototype is still heavily camouflaged, but the latest images do give us a clean look at the car's boxy profile and SUV-ish proportions. Based on the Concept Future S showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, the new Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be one of the company's new entry-level models and upon launch with compete with the likes of Renault Kwid.

Based on the new spy shot, it's clear that Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be like a mini SUV in all regards. However, we still haven't seen a prototype with alloy wheels yet, which could mean that even the production model will get steel wheels with hub caps, to keep the pricing competitive. It's too soon to comment of the exterior styling, but based on this and some of the older images, the car is likely to come with a set of sharp headlamps with halogen lights, and a pair of sweptback taillamps with integrated turn signal and brake lights.
The new Maruti S-Presso will be based on the light and rigid Heartect platform, sharing its underpinnings with the new-gen Wagon R, Swift, Ertiga and few others in the company's line up. Furthermore, the new S-Presso will also adhere to the new stringent safety norms have been introduced in the country, and will get improved crash protection along with dual airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, seat belt reminder as standard. In terms of features, the car is likely to get the company's Smartplay Studio touchscreen infotainment system, similar to the Wagon R.
According to the report, the S-Presso will come with a 1-litre petrol motor and will be available with an AMT as well. However, it's likely that, Maruti Suzuki will also offer the BS6 compliant 1.2-litre K12 petrol engine that is currently on offer in several of its other models.
