Virender Sehwag Thanks Sachin Tendulkar For His New BMW 7 Series

- Virender Sehwag got the BMW 7 Series in the 730 Ld variant
- The 7 Series diesel draws power from the 3-litre six-cylinder engine
- The 7 Series is the most luxurious sedan you can buy currently from BMW
Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag is known for his innings with the bat and more recently has gained recognition for his quirky sense of humour on Twitter. However, keeping his jibes aside, the former Indian cricket team opener took to the social networking platform to thank BMW India and former teammate Sachin Tendulkar for his new BMW 7 Series luxury sedan. Although not clear, reports suggest that the 7 Series was gifted to Sehwag by Tendulkar, who is also the brand ambassador for BMW India. Sehwag has brought home the 7 Series 730 Ld variant, which costs a whopping Rs. 1.16 crore (ex-showroom).

"Thank you @sachin_rt paaji and @bmwindia .Grateful for this !" said Sehwag in a caption. The BMW 7 Series 730 Ld is one of the more popular versions of the saloon and carries most of the bells and whistles, while power comes from the workhorse diesel engine. The 730 Ld uses a 3-litre in-line six-cylinder oil burner tuned to produce 261 bhp of power at 4000 rpm and 620 Nm of peak torque available between 1500-2500 rpm. The motor comes paired to a 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. The 7 Series diesel can hit the 0-100 kmph mark in 6.2 seconds.

The BMW 7 Series is one of the most luxurious cars to come from the manufacturer and is based on the all-new CLAR modular architecture. The car gets an evolutionary styling with sharper lines over the predecessor, while the feature list includes gesture control, remote park assist, 3D graphics interface, Heads Up Display (HUD) unit and much more. There's also a 1400 Watt Bowers & Wilkins audio system with 16 speakers, along with massage and ventilated rear seats and laser headlights.

(Sachin Tendulkar also a BMW 7 Series, albeit in the top-end 760 Li trim)

Lastly, the 7 Series gets the very fancy touchscreen key fob that gives access to a number of options on the car before you even step, and will also park itself without anyone on the driver's seat. In fact, the sixth generation BMW 7 Series was crowned the Luxury Car of the Year at the NDTV Car and Bike Awards 2017.
Both former cricketers were openers for the Indian cricket team, notably during the 2003 ICC World Cup. The cricketers have known to be close, and this gesture only adds to their friendship.
