What To Do When Your Tyre Pressure Drops

- The tyre pressure indicator shows low tyre pressure.
- Never drive with low tyre pressure.
- As soon as you notice a problem, fill your tyres with air.
The tyre pressure icon is generally the letters TPMS, or it might be an exclamation mark inside a tire. As soon as the light starts to show on this symbol, it means that the tyre pressure is low on one or more tires.
The optimal range for tyre pressure is between 30 and 35 pounds per square inch. The tyre pressure warning light generally turns on when the tyre pressure is 10% less than the recommended range. You will almost certainly never be able to tell with your naked eye.

Is a Drop in Tire Pressure Normal?
The dropping of tyre pressure is normal, and you shouldn't be alarmed if it happens. Generally, cars' tyres naturally lose up to a pound of air pressure each month. However, in winter, you will find that tyre pressure lowers more in winter than in any other season.
The reason behind this is that the cold weather has an effect on tyre pressure, and tyres lose a pound of air pressure for every 10 degree drop in temperature.
If you regularly fill the air in your tires, then it might mean one of two things:
- Your TPMS sensor is not working properly, or
- Leaks are happening in your tyres due to damage.
In such a scenario, you should always head to the mechanic and get the problem fixed after understanding the underlying reason.
Can you drive with low tyre pressure?
It is not recommended to drive with low tyre pressure. If you drive when the tyre pressure is extremely low, you run the risk of your tyre bursting and causing an accident. You might not even be able to head to the nearest mechanic to get it fixed. You should never drive with low tyre pressure and always regularly fill your tyres with air.

What to Do When Tyre Pressure is Low?
Many modern cars come equipped with technology that tells you which tyre has low pressure or even the tire's psi. However, there are cars that will only tell you when one or more of your tyres have low pressure. To find out which tyre has low pressure, you need to have a gauge for tyre pressure, which you can easily find on the market.
The tyre pressure gauge is a highly effective and helpful tool and is very easy to use. You just insert it into the tire's air valve, and the gauge will present the tire's psi to you.

Conclusion
It is recommended that you check all the tires' pressure and ensure they are within the optimal range. If any tyre has low pressure, do the needful and fill it with air.
The indicator will turn off as soon as you fix the tyre pressure situation.
