Land Rover Reveals the Range Rover Sport SVR

Remember we told you about the Range Rover Sport's teaser video that Land Rover had published? Well, hold your breath no more, for the company has now unveiled the Range Rover Sport SVR prototype, ahead of its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Land Rover says that the Range Rover Sport SVR is designed to be the 'fastest and most powerful' Range Rover ever, and that the prototype previews the production model that will be launched in 2015.
The prototype also marks the launch of the SVR moniker, which will be used to distinguish all future high performance models developed by Jaguar Land Rover's Special Operations division. Land Rover has not revealed the car's specifications, a bit of a bummer. However, we expect the Range Rover Sport's trademark 5.0-litre V8 to generate some more power this time; probably close to 550bhp, if not more.
Talking about its design, this one's got an aggressive front fascia with a mesh grille and larger air intakes. There is a new bumper too, that we spotted with an integrated diffuser. Also, there is no way one can ignore the sound coming out of that four-tailpipe exhaust system. Then there are the enormous alloy wheels and a high-performance braking system too.
While we wait for Land Rover to spill out the beans as regards to the car's performance, we will have to take their word for the time being when they say that the SVR will 'extend the Range Rover Sport's established capabilities as the fastest, most agile and most responsive Land Rover ever built.'
