2.2 Lakh Honda 2Wheelers Sold in 1 Day

In an attempt to better meet the festive demand, many of the Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) Pvt. Ltd. dealerships opened shop as early as 5:00 am and continued with deliveries up until 11:00 pm. Honda 2Wheelers has enjoyed a fruitful 2015 and the record sales witnessed by the company on Dhanteras resulted in a 33 per cent growth as compared to the total units sold on the same day, last year.
Of its entire portfolio, it was the motorcycle division that turned out to be the hero as it contributed 53 per cent to the total sales. India's best-selling 125cc motorcycle, the Honda CB Shine, led the surge in urban and semi-urban towns followed closely by the Dream series. Additionally, the market response to Honda's newly launched Livo motorcycle was very good.
In the scooter department, Honda cemented its place as the industry leader in the automatic scooter segment as sales jumped by 50 per cent. The front runner in this sub-section was the brand's iconic Activa scooter.
With regards to the bonanza sales figures achieved on Dhanteras, Mr. Yadvinder S. Guleria, HMSI Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing stated,"The overwhelming response received during Akshay Tritiya, Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratra and now on auspicious Dhanteras proves that more and more customers are choosing to celebrate every festival with a Honda 2Wheeler. We believe, the India-centric strategy to launch 15 new 2Wheelers in 2015 has created a new excitement in the market. Our larger portfolio of Honda offerings ensured that there was a 2Wheeler that matched the need of every customer."
