2019 BMW X7 India Launch: Price Expectation

The largest SUV from Bavaria is all set to make its way to India today - July 25, 2019 - as BMW will be introducing the all-new X7 in the country. The 2019 BMW X7 made its global debut earlier this year and is positioned above the X5 as the automaker's new flagship SUV. The model shares its underpinnings with the 7 Series sporting the same CLAR architecture and a host of creature comforts. We already know a great deal about the SUV and we even drove the SUV too in its 'home' market - the USA. It all boils down to the pricing then and here's what we think will be the ideal price range on the all-new BMW X7.

The BMW X7 is the flagship SUV from the Bavarian auto manufacturer
The 2019 BMW X7 is the flagship SUV from the German auto giant globally and its largest yet. The X7 is wide, has a dominating stance and will come with powerful petrol and diesel engines. It also marks the brand's entry in the full-size luxury SUV segment that will see the X7 compete against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLS, Audi Q7, Range Rover, Lexus LX and more. Prices then can hardly be called affordable, but they certainly will be competitive. We expect the new BMW X7 to be priced from Rs. 90 lakh, going up to Rs. 1.20 crore (all prices, ex-showroom), depending on the variant. The SUV is produced in Spartanburg, USA, for the world and will be brought to India as Completely Knocked Down Kits (CKD) to be assembled at BMW's Chennai facility, which will help keep prices within range.

For the price, the 2019 BMW X7 will be loaded to the gills. In terms of design, the X7 is massive in proportions and has quite the dominating presence. It also gets the largest iteration of the kidney grille we've seen till date on a BMW that is hard to miss. The X7 is the first Bimmer to sport three-row seating and is a proper seven-seater, which also makes it extremely practical for those looking at a luxurious family SUV.

This is the first time that a BMW 'X' SUV is offering three rows of seats
Inside, the BMW X7 shares the dashboard layout with the 7 Series that looks well-appointed and driver-centric. The feature list is extensive with some of the standard features including new 12.3-inch dual screens for the instrument console and infotainment system. The SUV also gets a new generation iDrive unit, gesture control, wireless charging, Harman audio system, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and more. The seats are upholstered in leather with ample of space in the second and third-row on offer. At 2.3 tonnes, this SUV is a mammoth.
Expect the BMW X7 to be priced around Rs. 90 lakh (ex-showroom) in India
However, the new X7 also comes with powerful engines. BMW India will be retailing the X7 xDrive 40i with the 3.0-litre six-cylinder, twin-turbo petrol motor tuned for 335 bhp and 450 Nm of peak torque. There will also the top-of-the-line X7 xDrive M50d with the 3.0-litre six-cylinder, twin-turbo diesel that produces 394 bhp and 760 Nm of peak torque. Both engines options will come paired with the 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission that will send power to all four wheels.
The BMW X7 will be the pinnacle of luxury from the automaker in the SUV space and will certainly be a model to look forward amidst a range of options. In addition to the X7, BMW also plans to introduce the 7 Series facelift in India tomorrow with cosmetic upgrades and new features. Stay tuned to this space for all the action from the launch event.
