Force Motors is currently gearing up to launch the new-gen BS6 version of its popular 4x4 off-road SUV - the Force Gurkha. First showcased as a pre-production concept at the 2020 Auto Expo, the SUV was expected to be launched last year, however the challenges imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic had forced the company to postpone the launch. However, right now Force Motors has been putting out multiple teasers of the new Gurkah, indicating that the launch is imminent. So, here's everything we know so far about the 2021 Force Gurkha BS6.

- The 2021 Force Gurkha will retain its signature design, however several styling updates have been made to the SUV to give it an upmarket look. These include LED lightings, alloy wheels and sharp character lines on the bonnet that give it a muscular stance.
- Force Motors has been putting out several teasers for the upcoming 4x4 SUV, revealing a bunch of new features that will be on offer. These include - LED Pro Edge Headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, fender lights with new branding, new ORVMs which now come with the iconic Kukri engraving, new signature taillights, and new Gurkha badge on the tailgate.

— Force Gurkha (@ForceGurkha4x4) September 3, 2021 - The Force Gurkha is a purpose built off-road SUV and thus comes with several elements specifically designed for those challenging terrains. Some of those features include - a new snorkel, newly designed 'Shark Gill' on the fender for better airflow, and a new larger rear windshield for better visibility.
- Based on several spy photos, we also know that the SUV will come with side steps, a tailgate mounted spare wheel, and an optional heavy-duty roof carrier and a ladder access at the rear. The Force Gurkha will be a 3-door SUV, however, a 5-door option could also be on offer.
- As for the cabin, based on previous spy photos, we know that the new Gurkha will continue to come with an all-black cabin with an updated dashboard, which for the first time will come with a touchscreen infotainment system. The SUV also get a new steering wheel, and we expect to see a new instrument cluster with a digital MID unit.
- The Gurkha will also get larger air-con vents with glossy black bezels, a manual HVAC system. The cabin will get a 7-seater layout with individual seats for the driver and front passenger, a second-row bench seat, and two side-facing jump seats at the back.

The upcoming Force Gurkha is expected to be powered by a Mercedes-Benz sourced 2.6-litre diesel engine
- Under the hood, the upcoming Force Gurkha is expected to be powered by a Mercedes-Benz sourced 2.6-litre diesel engine which will be a BS6-compliant unit. The powertrain belongs to the OM616 family and tuned to produce 89 bhp and 260 Nm of peak torque.
- Transmission duties will be handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox with a manual 4x4 as standard. The SUV will come equipped with an independent front suspension and a rigid axle at the rear.
