Global New Car Assessment Program is a regulatory body for new car analysis programs worldwide. This body was formed to promote the universal adoption of the UN's motor vehicles and safety standards.
To be precise, global NCAP is formed to decrease fatalities on the road along with serious accidents. With these things in mind, let's take a glance at the cars crash-tested by the NCAP.
Mahindra XUV700
The Mahindra XUV700 is the latest entrant into the list of the safest cars in India. The newly launched premium SUV from Mahindra & Mahindra has successfully garnered a 5-star safety rating in its Global NCAP crash test results. The XUV700 had its weight lowered by approximately 110 kg for getting this 5-star rating, which was ensured through the usage of plastic composites and high-tensile steel for the tailgate and also the unique design of the SUV. The Mahindra XUV700 gets a wealth of safety features, and this latest Global NCAP rating is only a feather in its cap.

Mahindra XUV300
The Mahindra XUV300 has evolved as the safest car in India. It has scored five stars for adult occupancy and received a four-star rating in the department of child protection.

What makes the Mahindra XUV300 one of the safest cars in India are its comprehensive safety features. For instance, the Mahindra XUV300 has seven airbags, an electronic stability program, ABS with EBD, heated ORVMs, front and rear parking camera.
Tata Nexon
To be precise, Tata Nexon has an NCAP rating of five stars which shows that it is durable and resistant to crashes.

The Tata Nexon features dual front airbags, electronic traction control, emergency brake assist, and hill hold assist. It also has ABS, which increases the overall safety of the car.
Mahindra Marazzo
To be precise, the Mahindra Marazzo has received a four-star rating from the NCAP. What makes the Mahindra Marazzo safe is the presence of various features. For instance, it has features like dual front airbags, disc brakes, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX, etc.
Suzuki Vitara Brezza
Note that the Suzuki Vitara Brezza is one of the safest Indian cars, with an NCAP rating of 4. Like all other cars, the Suzuki Vitara Brezza has various types of safety features. For instance, it has high-speed warning alerts, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX mounts, seat belt reminders,etc.
VW Polo
VW Polo, also known as Volkswagen Polo, has scored an impressive four-star in the NCAP rating. The versatile features present in the car makes it highly safe during accidents. For instance, the VW Polo comes equipped with dual front airbags, rain-sensing wipers, speed-sensing door locks, etc.
Suzuki Ertiga
There is no denying that the Suzuki Ertiga is one of the safest cars. It has an NCAP rating of three stars which makes it highly reliable/. It comes equipped with a large variety of safety features like ABS with EBD, and hill hold assists, electronic stability program, speed-sensing door locks, etc.

The Tata Punch mini-SUV has garnered sizable acclaim for its features and design, while getting its crash test done in 2021 itself. It obtained a 5-star rating at this time.
Tata Tigor EV
The Tigor EV held its own in the Global NCAP crash test held in 2021, obtaining a four-star rating.
Renault Triber
The Renault Triber got a four-star rating at the Global NCAP crash test done in 2021.
Mahindra Thar
The crash test was done in 2020 for the Mahindra Thar SUV and it obtained a four-star rating, performing nicely overall.
Maruti Suzuki S-Presso
The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso obtained a poor zero-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test, held in 2020.
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios got its crash test done in 2020 and obtained a two-star rating overall.
Kia Seltos
In 2020, the Kia Seltos went for the Global NCAP crash test, garnering three stars as its rating.
Tata Tigor
The Tata Tigor obtained a four-star rating in the 2020 Global NCAP crash test.
Tata Altroz
The Tata Altroz obtained a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test held in 2020.
Maruti Suzuki WagonR
The Maruti Suzuki WagonR obtained a two-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test of 2019.
Hyundai Santro
The Hyundai Santro obtained a two-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test of 2019.
Datsun Redi-Go
The Datsun Redi-Go obtained a 1-star crash test rating in the year 2019.
Maruti Suzuki Swift
The Maruti Suzuki Swift obtained a two-star rating in the 2018 crash test.
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza
The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza got a four-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test of 2018.
Renault Lodgy
The Renault Lodgy got a zero-star rating in the year 2018.
Renault Duster
The Renault Duster got a two-star rating in the year 2017.
Ford Aspire
The Ford Aspire obtained a three-star rating in the year 2017.
Renault Kwid
The Renault Kwid got a one-star rating in the year 2016.
Maruti Suzuki Eeco
The Maruti Suzuki Eeco obtained a zero-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test of 2016.
So as you can see, there are plenty of Indian cars certified safe by the NCAP. Make sure that you buy a car that has an NCAP rating of at least three stars. The Mahindra XUV700 was also recently crash tested by the Global NCAP and obtained a 5-star crash test rating. This is another feather in the cap for Mahindra & Mahindra and only adds to the appeal of the new-age XUV SUV.
