It is the second all-new model to be launched by the company after the Meteor 350, based the J-platform, which means it gets the same double-cradle chassis as the Meteor 350. It gets the same 349 cc single-cylinder DOHC engine as well, making 20.2 bhp at 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine is paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

In terms of design, the motorcycle continues to retain its familiar silhouette, of a modern classic motorcycle. The instrument console is part analogue part digital. The small digital readout displays fuel gauge, odometer, etc. but a gear position indicator and distance to empty data are missing, which should have been offered. Top-spec variants of the new Classic 350 get the Tripper Navigation pod, which offers turn by turn navigation and Bluetooth connectivity.

Some variants of the next generation Royal Enfield Classic 350 get alloy wheels and tubeless tyres, just like the Meteor 350. Royal Enfield will offer a bunch of customisation option through the 'Make it Yours' online initiative, where customers can choose the colours, seat options and accessorise the new Classic 350 according to their personal preferences.
