Auto Expo 2018: Mahindra Teases Two EV Concept Ahead of Official Unveil
- The two Mahindra electric vehicle concepts will be all-new models
- Mahindra could also showcase a pre-production model of the KUV100 EV
- Mahindra's theme for the Auto Expo 2018 is 'Future of Mobility'
Sometime back we told you that Mahindra will be showcasing six new electric vehicles at the Auto Expo 2018. While we expect to see a few of the pre-production models, mainly the KUV100 EV, Mahindra will also be showcasing two all-new electric concepts at the Motor Show, and the carmaker has teased them in one of its recent videos. The video reveals two different silhouettes, which are presumably the new EV concepts that are set to make their debut in India.

Considering the fact that Mahindra's theme at the Auto Expo 2018 is going to be the 'Future of Mobility', some of the other EVs we could see at the Auto Expo, in addition to the KUV electric car, are the XUV Aero electric and even the Tivoli electric car among others. The teaser video also indicates the two new concept models will be hatchbacks or small cars suitable for city driving conditions. This means the range of these models could also be limited to 200 to 250 km. Furthermore, Mahindra has also mentioned that they are working on electric cars that will come with swappable battery packs, which will allow the user to keep an extra set to swap for more convenience. And these models could be the ones to come with the new swappable batteries.
The company will also showcase a first of its kind future electric architecture and an electric mobility platform. In fact, early this month, Rajan Wadhera, President, Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Said, "We will display the widest range of electric passenger and mass mobility solutions including inspiring concepts, electric mobility platforms and future electric architecture that will manifest our commitment towards sustainable mobility in India."
