carandbike Awards 2022: Viewers' Choice Car of the Year - Mahindra XUV700

Aside from being adjudged the carandbike Mid-Size SUV of the Year, the tech-laden Mahindra XUV700 was also the pick of the public. Mahindra's SUV took home the honours in the Viewer's Choice Car of the Year award ahead of competitors like the MG Astor, Tata Punch and the Renault Kiger. The XUV700 was also in contention for the overall Car of the Year.

The Mahindra XUV700 has proven to be a very popular SUV with the public with initial batches selling out within hours of bookings openings and crossing the 1 lakh bookings mark within four months of it's launch. Mahindra's SUV certainly doesn't lack in the tech department with fully-loaded models packing in features such as the Mercedes-like dual 10.25-inch screen set-up, a Sony 3D Surround sound system, a comprehensive suite of ADAS features, connected car tech, panoramic sunroof and much more.

The XUV700 is available with a pair of petrol and diesel engines across two model lines - the base MX series and the more kitted out AX (AdrenoX) series - with the latter providing the option for three-rows of seating, automatic gearbox options and all-wheel drive.

Starting with the petrol, the XUV700 uses a 197bhp and 280Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox depending on the model line and variant. The diesel engine is a 2.2-litre turbocharged mill developing 153bhp and 360Nm in the MX series and a stronger 182bhp and 420Nm in manual and 182bhp and 450Nm in the automatic variants in the AX series
