David Beckham Gifts Son Lunaz-Built 1954 Jaguar XK140 EV

- Beckham hold 10 percent stake in Lunaz
- Company says classic car projects costs upwards of GBP 350,000
- Company says it has a waiting list stretching to January 2024
David Beckham has gifted his son a resto-mod all-electric 1954 Jaguar XK140 by UK-based Lunaz. Beckham, an investor in the EV conversion firm, presented the all-electric XK140 to his eldest son Brooklyn as a wedding gift. Lunaz said that the project involved thousands of hours of work by a 120 strong team of craftsmen, designers, and electric vehicle technicians to restore and convert the XK140.
Commenting on the project, David Lorenz, Founder & CEO, Lunaz said, “In creating this beautiful, electrified Jaguar XK140, we are honoured to bridge the gap between David Beckham's professional life, where he is an investor in Lunaz and his family life. This remarkable car is the perfect gift to his son Brooklyn and daughter-in-law, Nicola on their wedding day. In every respect, this extraordinary electric classic car by Lunaz symbolises a bright, positive future.”
The finished car features a light blue paint shade with the cabin finished in light cream upholstery. Lunaz says that in all its converted classic cars the modern technology has been carefully hidden away. The company says that the XK140's cabin reflects the original jaguar design but with subtle changes to provide owners with EV related information such as battery charge level and some other contemporary functions.

Footballer David Beckham invested in Lunaz in 2021 for a 10 percent stake.
Aside from the EV powertrain, the company says it has also uprated the brakes, suspension and steering from the original to improve everyday usability of the resto-modded classic.
Beckham invested in Lunaz in June 2021 taking a 10 percent stake in the company which rolled out its first car in 2019. Based out of Silverstone, England Lunaz established itself by bringing to market the world's first fully electric Range Rover, Bentley, Rolls-Royce and Jaguar sports cars. The company is currently on course to enter full production of upcycled electric vehicles for industrial applications with a new remanufacturing and electrification facility in the works at Silverstone.
The company says that prices for its classic EV conversions start from £350,000 excluding taxes with a waitlist currently stretching's to January of 2024.
