Ducati Streetfighter V2 Spotted On Test

- Ducati Streetfighter V2 expected to be showcased at EICMA 2021
- The Streetfighter V2 will be based on the Superquadro L-twin engine
- New Streetfighter V2 will be a more affordable option
Ever since the Ducati Streetfighter V4 based on the Desmosedici Stradale engine was launched, there have been rumours about Ducati introducing a smaller middleweight Ducati Streetfighter V2. With the Streetfighter V4 receiving rave reviews, with both enthusiasts and Ducati fans, it seems to be only a matter of time before the products strategists at Ducati cooked up a more accessible, and affordable sport naked, based on the Ducati Panigale V2. The assumption is that, it's still a Panigale V2 at heart, but without the bodywork and fairings for that classic streetfighter look.

The Panigale V2 uses the Ducati Superquaddro L-twin engine with desmodromic valve timing, and this will likely be used in the Streetfighter V2 as well.

But these spy shots are a guess at best, of the bike testing in Italy. The photos do not clearly show even the design of the Streetfighter V2, let alone show details of the engine. But what we can expect is the same 955 cc, super-quaddro, L-twin motor that makes 155 bhp at 10,750 rpm and has a peak torque output of 104 Nm at 9,000 rpm of the Panigale V2. And compared to the Streetfighter V4, the middleweight naked will be a more affordable version, but price will only be marginally lower than the full-faired Panigale V2.

We also expect a comprehensive electronics suite, with an inertial measurement unit (IMU), powering the traction control, wheelie control, and will also come with cornering ABS. At this stage, what is not known is if and when Ducati will introduce the new model. Our bets are on the upcoming EICMA 2021 show in Milan in November 2021, or the World Ducati Week, which is when the bike will be revealed to the public.
