FCA India To Introduce Its Parts And Service Brand 'Mopar' In India

- FCA confirmed the arrival of Mopar at the roll-out ceremony of Compass
- Mopar offers parts and after-sales service for all car brands under FCA
- Mopar will establish a full-fledged auto parts & service network in India
Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) has officially announced that it will be launching the company's popular parts, service and customer care brand Mopar in India. The announcement was made earlier today at the roll out ceremony of the company's all-new Jeep Compass SUV. In India, the Mopar brand will be offering parts and services for Jeep and possibly the Fiat brand as well.
Globally, the Mopar brand has been associated with Fiat since the early-1900s. The name itself is a combination of the words 'Motor' and 'Parts' and the term was first introduced in 1920 by Chrysler. The Mopar brand officially came into existence only in 1937, and it has been widely associated with Chrysler-built vehicles ever since. It has been offering performance enhancing parts, accessories, and services for FCA-owned brands like - Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, Abarth and Fiat among others.

Similarly, in India, Mopar is likely to establish a full-fledged auto parts and service network at pan-India scale. Considering the customer base for performance parts is not as wide as other existing markets, Mopar will initially be more focused towards the aftersales and service aspect in India. This means that Fiat's after sales network, which has been highly criticised in India, could also see a huge improvement. And this could be the chance for FCA to change its current image about the brand in the Indian market.
Right now, the Jeep brand does not have a dedicated service network for its vehicles sold in India apart from the in-house service stations at the limited Jeep dealerships already present in the country. Apart from this, one of the main reasons the company is keen on bringing the Mopar brand to India is because of the much-anticipated arrival of the Jeep Compass. Slated to be its most affordable product in India, the Compass will be the volume generator in the company's Indian line-up and for it to succeed in a market like India, FCA needs a strong and trustworthy service network.
